CHARLOTTE, NC, February 13, 2025 – Bright Hope Capital is making a strategic investment of $2.5 million to expand Big Prime Hauling operations. This investment will be used to acquire additional hauling vehicles, including dump trucks, purchase a dedicated storage yard in Raleigh, North Carolina, and develop an on-site mechanic shop to service the company’s fleet.
“Big Prime Hauling has been experiencing substantial growth, and this investment is a key part of our strategy to ensure efficiency and sustainability,” said Terrell Southerland, president of Big Prime Hauling. “With new contracts secured and the business scaling rapidly, these additions will strengthen our operational capabilities and create more opportunities for our workforce.”
The new yard will serve as the company’s central truck storage and maintenance hub, optimizing logistics and fleet management. Additionally, the construction of an in-house mechanic shop will allow the company to service and maintain its growing fleet independently, reducing downtime and increasing cost efficiency.
“This expansion represents another step in fulfilling Bright Hope Capital’s mission—to invest in Black- and Brown-owned businesses, support economic growth, and provide good-paying jobs,” said Lorie Spratley, chief operating officer of Bright Hope Capital. “We are not only scaling operations but also strengthening our commitment to workforce development.”
As part of its broader mission, Big Prime Hauling is dedicated to exploring how this expansion can further integrate its recidivism reentry program, creating even more employment opportunities for returning citizens looking to rebuild their lives through stable careers in the trucking industry.
Bright Hope Capital remains steadfast in its commitment to scaling businesses that create jobs and foster economic mobility.
